As a kid, I always had a passion and excitement for creating, building, and understanding how things work. When I wasn’t building treehouses, forts, go-carts, and many other things, I was investigating how they worked and were built. I would take apart any device that I could get my hands on to see how it functioned and often would put it back together with modifications or “improvements”. Some of these turned out pretty cool, but a few times it may have led to those poor devices demise, including one time, my mother’s brand-new washing machine. That passion for understanding how things work, the sequence of how they are built and solving constructability challenges is what led me to a career in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Industry.

A mentor of mine, early in my career, told me that most people view what we do is that we design and build with pipe, steel, wire, and concrete, but those who truly understand our industry know that we design and build with people. While we do use those material items, it is the designers and builders, as people, that build relationships, train the next generation, solve problems, determine sequencing, drive schedule, and as a team, create the structures that directly impact every person in this world every day. Design and Construction is about people and relationships. That is what I think makes CE Solutions so special. Our amazing people drive successful outcomes for our clients, not just because they are the best at what they do, but because they focus on the relationships with everyone on the project. And because of this approach, all on the team, including the client, receive best value results.
