The new headquarters for Liberty Fund, Inc., a private educational foundation, increases the visibility of the organization through a design that makes a statement on a prominent site. The building consists of a one-story entry pavilion, conference and hospitality area, two-story office area and a two-story library area that includes a partial mezzanine and basement. The entire structure is designed around an open, central courtyard. A pedestrian trail, sculpture gardens and reflecting pool on the wooded site will be visible from a two-story library.

Design challenges included providing support for the roof framing of the library through custom designed, engineered wood “tree columns.” Another challenge was the design of a cantilevered mezzanine system that overlooks the main level of the library. In addition, CE Solutions designed the structural supports for a specialty screening system that envelopes the exterior curtain wall system of the library.
