Years prior to CE Solutions’ formation, Steve and JD would have conversations about Steve’s vision to form his own company. Eventually he did, and JD later joined CE Solutions in 2003. “The type of company Steve wanted to create, the flexible, nontraditional office environment and the family atmosphere were all appealing to me, as was the idea of joining a consulting engineering firm where I could collaborate with multiple clients and project types,” JD said.

JD enjoys structural engineering because it “applies science to something people can see.” He has a knack for effectively teaching and explaining complex engineering concepts, in addition to a commitment to work hard, stay true to his values and understand issues by putting them into context.

“Much of my development comes from collaborating with others, both inside and outside of the office,” JD says. “I also enjoy working with specialists, architects and other engineering disciplines to gain new ideas that enhance the project process.”

Originally from Michigan, JD enjoys cheering on the Lions and the Tigers. He’s also a fan of the Colts and his alma mater, Purdue University.
