The Carmel Clay Historical Society (CCHS) is currently housed in the historic Monon Depot - built in 1883 - that once served as a passenger station and freight depot. The CCHS is dedicated to preserving Carmel and Clay Township’s history and developing an appreciation of the settlement and growth. Educational programs, tours, maintaining historic archives are a few services CCHS provides to the residents of Carmel and Clay Township. The new facility will be built adjacent to the existing depot. Some of the key features will include: gallery space, exhibit space, community meeting space, archives, gift shop, and a rooftop garden that can be rented for private events.
